HVAC Service & Installation Technician
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
We are looking for an experienced HVAC Service & Installation Technician to join our growing service department. As an HVAC technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, maintaining, repairing, and installing residential heating and cooling systems. This includes furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, air handlers, thermostats, ductwork, indoor air quality equipment, and other HVAC-related systems.
Technicians will primarily respond to residential service calls, but will also perform planned maintenance, equipment replacements, and new installations as needed. Experience in residential HVAC service and installation is preferred. Our company offers ongoing training, opportunities for professional development, and yearly wage increases as your skills develop. Starting pay is determined based on skills, experience, and certifications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve clients by professionally diagnosing and servicing their complete heating, cooling, and indoor air quality needs.
- Wear floor savers while working in the client’s home and maintain a neat, clean, and professional work area.
- Clearly explain the service being performed and communicate repair or replacement options in a way the client can easily understand.
- Diagnose, repair, maintain, and install residential HVAC equipment and related systems.
- Perform maintenance and safety inspections on furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, boilers, air handlers, thermostats, and other HVAC equipment.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, airflow, and control system issues.
- Properly charge, recover, evacuate, and handle refrigerants in accordance with applicable regulations and company procedures.
- Install and replace HVAC equipment, including furnaces, condensers, coils, heat pumps, air handlers, thermostats, humidifiers, filtration systems, and other accessories.
- Perform startup, testing, and commissioning of newly installed equipment to ensure proper operation and efficiency.
- Re-check all repairs and installations before leaving the client’s home to ensure the system is operating properly and the job was completed correctly the first time.
- Perform a complete inspection of the client’s HVAC system and identify opportunities to prevent future breakdowns and improve comfort, efficiency, safety, and reliability.
- Properly use the company Pricing Guide and recommend the right solution for the client.
- Understand your sales criteria and hold yourself accountable for meeting or exceeding revenue goals.
- Establish trust and rapport with clients and educate them on repair, replacement, maintenance, and indoor air quality options.
- Explain available maintenance/service club memberships and give every client the opportunity to participate.
- Maintain a professional appearance and represent the company with honesty, integrity, and respect at all times.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked service vehicle.
- Keep accurate records of service calls, repairs, equipment information, parts used, and recommendations.
- Maintain proper inventory of tools, parts, and equipment needed to efficiently complete service calls and installations.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, HVAC codes, manufacturer specifications, and safety requirements.
- Always be safety conscious both on the job and while driving.
- Participate actively in training exercises, morning meetings, company events, and professional development opportunities.

WHAT WE ASK:
- Minimum of 2 years of residential HVAC service and/or installation experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of residential heating, cooling, refrigeration, electrical, and control systems
- EPA 608 certification required
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to qualify to drive a company vehicle
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Professional appearance and positive attitude
- Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player
- Ability to safely lift and maneuver HVAC equipment and materials
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training and continuing education
- Colorado HVAC licensing/certification preferred, or willingness to obtain required credentials
- Must be dependable, punctual, honest, and committed to doing the job right the first time
