Apartment Maintenance Technician

Seeking an enthusiastic team player with ability to live on-site (or within 30 minutes) and:

• Ensure ongoing attractiveness, cleanliness and functionality of a 100+ unit suburban apartment community
• Represent the management team with professionalism in all respects including appearance, attitude, responsiveness and work ethic.
• Prioritize tenant safety

Duties include:

• Handling emergency tenant service calls
• Preparing vacant units for tenant occupancy - cleaning, performing or arranging for maintenance, light repairs, painting, appliance replacement, etc. in a timely and efficient manner
• Conducting general building maintenance, repairs and preventative maintenance
• Performing custodial services throughout the property and grounds to ensure a clean, safe, aesthetically pleasing environment
• Winter months - maintaining building entrances and walkways free of snow and ice with regular shoveling, snow blowing and de-icing
• Work with vendors to ensure outsourced work is performed as expected
• Assist with tenant service requests
• Works in support of the whole team in their duties and responsibilities; creating a tenant first environment excelling in customer service, communication, and quality of service
• Maintain workshop in a clean, organized and professional manner
• Maintain appropriate levels of unit supplies, appliances, parts and other equipment

Requirements:

• Experience with emergency and routine maintenance including cleaning, light plumbing, heating systems, carpentry, electrical, appliance repair, landscaping and other miscellaneous maintenance
• Familiarity with hand tools, power tools and a working knowledge of mechanical equipment
• The ability to lift 50-75 pounds
• The ability to shoulder 24 hour on-call duties and responsibilities on a rotating basis
• The ability to work a flexible schedule, including overtime, nights, weekends and holidays as needed
• A valid drivers license
• Ability to live on-site or within 30 minutes of property
• Must pass an employee background check and submit to drug testing
