Maintenance Tech
Job Description
Topre America Corporation is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our manufacturing team on 2nd or 3rd Shift. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment and industrial systems to support safe, efficient, and reliable manufacturing operations.
This position is ideal for a skilled maintenance professional with strong industrial electrical controls, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and PLC troubleshooting experience.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, production machinery, and related equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair robotic weld machines and weld-quality equipment.
- Troubleshoot industrial electrical control systems from 24VDC through 600VAC.
- Troubleshoot AC and DC motors, drives, VFDs, starters, relays, motor controls, proximity sensors, and limit switches.
- Troubleshoot machine safety circuits, safety relays, light curtains, and safety gate latches.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, equipment drawings, manuals, and technical specifications.
- Perform equipment inspections and identify potential maintenance issues.
- Perform PLC programming, editing, and troubleshooting.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete required documentation.
- Record equipment and maintenance data on designated forms.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area using 5S principles.
- Properly use and maintain required PPE.
- Operate forklifts and other support equipment as required.
- Work cooperatively with production, engineering, maintenance, and other departments.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Overtime and occasional travel to support other Topre facilities may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in an applicable field OR three (3) years of applicable experience.
- Minimum 4 years of industrial electrical controls troubleshooting and repair experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
- Strong experience troubleshooting 24VDC through 600VAC systems – REQUIRED.
- Experience with industrial electrical controls and motor control systems.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting knowledge.
- Ability to troubleshoot both AC and DC motors and drives.
- Experience with VFDs, starters, relays, proximity sensors, and limit switches.
- Ability to read and understand electrical circuits, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
- PLC programming, editing, and troubleshooting experience.
- Ability to diagnose problems and make sound decisions when working with a wide variety of manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to operate a forklift and other support equipment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in an automotive or high-speed manufacturing environment.
- Experience with robotic welding equipment and weld-quality systems.
- Experience with 5S and organized maintenance practices.
Physical Requirements
The Maintenance Technician must be able to work in a manufacturing environment and regularly stand, walk, use hands and arms, and communicate effectively. The position may require bending, twisting, squatting, kneeling, climbing, reaching above shoulder level, pushing/pulling, and occasionally lifting, carrying, or moving materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment
This position works primarily in a manufacturing environment and may involve exposure to moving mechanical equipment, vibration from hand tools, and elevated noise levels. Required PPE must be worn in accordance with Topre America safety policies.
