Low Voltage & HVAC Controls Technician
We are looking for an experienced Lead Low Voltage & HVAC Controls Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate is a dependable leader with strong hands-on technical skills in both low voltage systems and HVAC controls. This position is responsible for leading crews, completing installations and troubleshooting, communicating with customers and project managers, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise a team of low voltage technicians on commercial and residential job sites.
- Install, troubleshoot, service, and maintain low voltage systems.
- Install and troubleshoot HVAC control wiring, including control wiring for thermostats, sensors, equipment, and related HVAC components.
- Install and service structured cabling, security cameras (CCTV), access control, alarm systems, audio/video, and network infrastructure.
- Perform HVAC control wiring installations according to project specifications, drawings, and applicable codes.
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot low voltage and HVAC control wiring issues.
- Coordinate daily tasks, materials, equipment, and job site activities.
- Ensure all work meets company standards, local codes, and safety requirements.
- Train and mentor team members while maintaining productivity and quality.
- Communicate project progress, material needs, and issues with management and customers.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional job site.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in the low voltage industry.
- Hands-on experience with HVAC control wiring and installation.
- Previous experience leading a crew or managing technicians preferred.
- Strong knowledge of structured cabling, networking, CCTV, access control, alarm systems, and related low voltage systems.
- Experience installing and troubleshooting HVAC control wiring and components.
- Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Strong electrical and low voltage troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while also leading and supporting a team.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Professional attitude, strong work ethic, and excellent communication skills.
