Lead Electrician - Residential & Light Commercial
Job Description
Lead Electrician – Residential & Light Commercial
Everything Electrical, LLC | Williamsburg, VA
Full-Time | $30–$33/hour, based on experience and ability to independently lead projects
Everything Electrical, LLC is looking for an experienced Lead Electrician who can take ownership of residential and light-commercial electrical projects from start to finish.
This is a hands-on field position for an electrician who knows the trade, can lead a small crew, communicates professionally with homeowners, builders and project managers, and takes pride in doing the job right.
Our Lead Electrician works directly with the owner and is trusted to keep projects organized, productive, safe and moving forward. We are looking for someone who can lead—not someone who needs to be taught how to lead.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead residential and light-commercial electrical installations from rough-in through final completion
- Perform and oversee wiring, devices, fixtures, electrical panels, generators, EV chargers and related electrical installations
- Lead small field crews of approximately 1–3 employees, including apprentices and technicians
- Assign daily tasks and make sure crew members understand expectations
- Lay out work and organize projects to keep crews productive and projects on schedule
- Identify field issues and make sound decisions to keep work moving
- Communicate professionally with homeowners, general contractors, builders, project managers and inspectors
- Ensure installations comply with the NEC, local codes and Everything Electrical quality standards
- Conduct final walkthroughs, complete punch lists and prepare projects for inspection and closeout
- Follow OSHA requirements and enforce proper PPE and safe jobsite practices
- Maintain clean, organized and professional jobsites
- Manage job materials, equipment and company tools while minimizing waste
- Identify potential change-order work and communicate it before additional work is performed
- Complete required documentation, including daily job reports, timesheets and project information
- Travel between local job sites as needed to ensure projects remain organized, on schedule and completed to company standards
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for an electrician who is comfortable being responsible for more than simply completing assigned tasks.
The right person should be able to walk onto a project, understand what needs to happen, organize the work, lead the crew and communicate when something needs management’s attention.
Qualified candidates should have:
- Strong professional electrical experience
- Previous experience as a Lead Electrician, Foreman or similar field leadership role
- Strong residential electrical experience
- Experience with light-commercial electrical work
- Ability to independently read electrical plans and lay out electrical work
- Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Experience supervising and directing apprentices or other electricians
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical problems and make sound field decisions
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Professional communication skills when working with customers, contractors and inspectors
- Commitment to quality workmanship and jobsite safety
- Ability to work independently without constant supervision
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to travel between local jobsites as required
What We Offer
- $30–$33/hour, based on experience and demonstrated ability to independently lead projects
- Full-time employment
- Medical insurance
- Dental insurance
- Vision insurance
- Paid Time Off (PTO)
- Consistent residential and light-commercial electrical work
- Small field crews
- Direct communication with company ownership
- Opportunity to take real ownership of projects and have an impact on the company’s success
