Job Title: experienced Welder GMAW/3G
Location:south Houston
Shift: full time
Candidate must be willing and available to work rotating shifts, including night shifts
Pay Rate:Competitive pay based on experience and interview
We are looking for an experienced and skilled Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience Perform GMAW welding on Non-Critical welds in accordance with ACSI welding procedure specifications; GMAW welding of Aluminum may be required. Welds include cabinets and related sheet steel products, container doors and other Non-Critical attachment welds on containers up to and including 3/16” thickness.
The employee holding this job must perform the work activities in a correct, accurate and timely fashion
- Perform GMAW welding on sheet-steel products and container components.
- Perform GMAW welding on aluminum when required.
- Weld cabinets, container doors, and other non-critical attachments.
- Perform fillet, lap, corner, and plug welds as required.
- Follow ACSI Welding Procedure Specifications and applicable welding codes.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings to determine weld size and requirements.
- Inspect welds for quality and ensure work meets company standards.
- Perform welding in vertical, horizontal, overhead, and other required positions.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Meet established production and quality requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Ability to successfully complete welding tests in accordance with AWS D1.3 Welding Code for fillet, lap, corner, and plug welds in sheet steel.
- Ability to successfully complete welding tests in accordance with AWS D1.2 Welding Code for aluminum, when applicable.
- Prior experience performing GMAW/MIG welding.
- Ability to understand and follow both simple and complex oral and written instructions.
- Ability to identify and resolve problems based on standardized procedures and work experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, lead personnel, and coworkers.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and welding requirements.
- Ability to comprehend and successfully complete additional training related to job duties.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Ability to work safely while meeting production deadlines.
