Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY :
The Quality Manager’s primary responsibility is to manage and supervise the Quality Department and the quality system ensuring that policies and procedures are enforced and quality expectations are communicated, developed and maintained. The Quality Manager has the responsibility and authority to revise, implement and maintain the Quality Policy Manual. He/she has the authority to put on hold any product not conforming to QA standards and specifications, maintain corrective action reports and manage the Quality Department. He/she has the authority to issue corrective actions as a result of audit findings. Reports functionally to the Plant Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

̈ Direct interaction with the entire customer base for Nova to ensure customer satisfaction and to provide direction to appropriate Quality Engineers.
̈ Ensure the Corrective Action Program is managed effectively.
̈ Utilize production data to develop continuous improvement activities.
̈ Maintain Nova Operating System database for Executive Staff reporting (Data card).
̈ Utilize customer ratings to address issues and develop improvement initiatives.
̈ Manage Nova’s containment activity.
̈ Monitor control of quality records.
̈ Identify and provide training within the department and to supporting staff.
̈ Establish and maintain documented quality systems policies and procedures in accordance with IATF 16949 requirements.
̈ Complying with the applicable audit requirements per IATF 16949.
̈ Organize internal quality audits.
̈ Communicating and clarifying audit and system requirements to the company.
̈ Planning and carrying out assigned responsibilities effectively and efficiently.
̈ Documenting and communicating observations, while offering problem solving solutions.
̈ Reporting the audit results to staff and management.
̈ Retaining and safeguarding documents pertaining to the audit.
̈ Following up on corrective action activity as it pertains to audit activity.
̈ Follow through on management assigned duties.
̈ Assist with selection of other audit team members.
̈ Prepare the audit plan.
̈ Submit the audit report and maintain certification.
̈ Directly perform the following: Evaluate expense reports - approve/refute, Approve/refute debit memos (return authorization by QA department.), Employee evaluations (QA department.), and Assigning job responsibilities.
̈ Metrology – Manage internal lab activities.
̈ Any other project deemed necessary by the President, Vice President, and General/Plant Manager.
̈ Follows all safety, housekeeping, and company policies and procedures.
̈ Coordinates and maintains all job responsibilities in a continuous and flexible manner and performs other related duties and assignments as required.
̈ IATF awareness training.
̈ Report required organizational metrics to top management
̈ Support Quality Management Systems
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
̈ Bachelor’s degree and/or CQE certification preferred.
̈ Current training in APQP principles. (AIAG).
̈ Formal problem-solving training (8D, 5 phase, CAR, etc.).
̈ Knowledge of Quality Management Systems.
̈ Statistical Process Control methodology.
̈ Color acuity.
̈ Training in IATF16949 auditing and/ or auditing practices through recognized accredited source.
̈ Minimum five (5) years - Quality engineering - APQP.
̈ Minimum five (5) years - Automotive injection molding environment.
̈ Minimum five (5) years - Management - Quality Assurance.
̈ Should have acted as qualified auditor in at least three complete audits.
The Quality Manager shall have direct working knowledge of the following:
̈ Knowledge of IATF 16949 systems and standards
̈ Competent PC skills (i.e. Windows, Excel, Microsoft Word, etc.).
̈ People orientated, able to manage people, systems and projects. (proactive, team player with leadership capabilities).
̈ Experience with successful customer satisfaction.
̈ Excellent interpersonal and writing skills.
̈ IATF-awareness training.
