Job Description
Colleen McAuliffe is looking for an experienced Controller to lead the finance and accounting function for a growing semiconductor and electric components manufacturing organization in South San Jose, California. This role offers broad exposure across the business and a close working relationship with senior leadership while shaping scalable financial practices. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise, sound operational judgment, and the ability to deliver clear financial insight in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
• Direct daily accounting activities across the general ledger, payables, receivables, payroll, and period-end close to ensure accurate and timely financial operations.
• Guide and strengthen the finance and accounting team through leadership, mentoring, and performance development.
• Design, implement, and refine accounting procedures, control frameworks, and financial policies that support growth and operational discipline.
• Produce and review financial statements and management reports, providing leadership with analysis on performance trends, risks, and business results.
• Develop cash flow projections and monitor liquidity to support planning, funding decisions, and overall financial stability.
• Oversee cost accounting activities, including inventory valuation, standard costing, and analysis of manufacturing variances.
• Partner with operational leaders to evaluate margins, production performance, and cost drivers, helping improve efficiency and profitability.
• Lead company-wide budgeting and forecasting efforts, aligning financial plans with strategic and operational objectives.
• Manage external audit activities, regulatory compliance obligations, retirement plan accounting, banking relationships, and treasury-related processes.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in controllership, accounting leadership, or financial management roles.• Strong background in financial statement preparation and full-cycle accounting operations.
• Experience within semiconductor, electronics, or other manufacturing-based environments.
• Solid knowledge of cost accounting, inventory accounting, and manufacturing financial controls.
• Demonstrated success leading audits, strengthening internal controls, and maintaining regulatory compliance.
• Hands-on experience with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Proven ability to lead teams and communicate financial insights effectively to executive stakeholders.
