Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of pipe fabrication inspection experience.
• Experience inspecting pipe fabrication in fabrication shop environments.
• Ability to read and interpret:
• • Isometric drawings
  • Piping drawings
  • Fabrication drawings
  • Specifications
  • Contracts
  • Quality documentation
• Strong understanding of:
• • Pipe fabrication processes
  • Welding inspection
  • NDE requirements
  • Quality management systems
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to travel extensively.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
• NDE knowledge and experience
• Coating inspection experience
• Industrial construction experience
• Power, utility, EPC, energy, oil & gas, or heavy industrial project experience
• Experience supporting Kiewit, TIC, Entergy, Fluor, Bechtel, Zachry, Burns & McDonnell, Black & Veatch, or similar EPC projects

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking an experienced Pipe Fabrication Inspector to provide quality oversight across multiple fabrication facilities supporting large industrial construction projects. This individual will rotate between fabrication shops, perform in-process and final inspections, verify drawing conformance, monitor fabrication progress, identify schedule risks, and provide detailed reporting to project stakeholders. This position serves as a key liaison between fabrication shops and project teams by ensuring quality, schedule visibility, and consistent field reporting.

Travel

• Someone flying out of Chicago O'Hare would be the most efficient.
