Job Description
The Vice President of Finance / Division CFO leads all financial activities for the the organization. This executive is responsible for producing timely financial reports, developing growth-supportive forecasts, and enforcing strong financial controls in percentage-of-completion project accounting, budgeting, and reporting. Partnering closely with divisional leadership and reporting to the organization CFO, this role provides strategic financial insights to drive operational excellence and sustainable growth within the competitive New York metropolitan electrical construction market.
Responsibilities
- Direct preparation of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, tax returns, and agency reports forthe organization.
- Prepare and review monthly Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules, cost-to-complete forecasts, gross profit analyses, and backlog reporting
- Manage percentage-of-completion accounting and ensure billings align with actual project progress and revenue recognition
- Track and allocate labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs across all active jobs and contracts
- Oversee annual and periodic budget preparation and support internal and external audits
- Compare budgets versus actuals, identify variances, and adjust forecasts and operating budgets accordingly
- Collaborate with Divisional Head and senior executives on strategic planning, financial priorities, and growth opportunities
- Handle financial matters related to insurance, bonding, joint ventures, claims, and legal issues in coordination with Corporate Finance and Legal teams
- Hire, train, mentor, and develop accounting and finance staff; upgrade financial systems and software including Vista by Viewpoint
- Perform related duties and special projects as assigned by Group CFO or senior leadership
