Insurance Defense Lead Paralegal – 3–5 Years of Experience

Hightower, Stratton, Novigrod & Kantor is a well-established and highly respected law firm specializing in insurance defense litigation. We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Insurance Defense Lead Paralegal to join our Insurance Defense team in our West Palm Beach office.
Position Overview:
Are you an experienced Insurance Defense Lead Paralegal looking to take the next step in your career? We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive professional with 3–5 years of insurance defense experience to support our Insurance Defense team in a fast-paced, high-exposure environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys with all aspects of case management, from inception through trial
- Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, discovery, subpoenas, and motions
- Organize and manage large volumes of documents, including medical records, deposition transcripts, and trial exhibits
- Coordinate and schedule hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials
- Assist in trial preparation, including trial binders, witness lists, and exhibit files
- Conduct legal research and summarize depositions, expert reports, and medical records
- Manage expert witnesses, including scheduling and communications
- Handle electronic filings in both state and federal courts
- Track billable time and ensure compliance with firm billing practices
- Independently manage priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume insurance defense practice
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a paralegal in an insurance defense law firm
- Experience supporting insurance defense litigation strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of Florida Rules of Civil Procedure and E-Filing
- Trial preparation and litigation support experience required
- Ability to summarize medical records, billing, and legal documents
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe, and case management systems
- Experience with Litify or Clio is a plus
- Paralegal certification or degree strongly preferred
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
