We are seeking a Pharmacy Technician to become a part of our team! You will assist in the preparation of medications under the direction of a pharmacist.


Job Summary:

The pharmacy technician assists with both sterile and non-sterile preparation of medications in compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies and procedures, assembly of patient supplies and equipment, and other tasks under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. The pharmacy technician will also assist with internal clerical duties and the maintenance and cleaning of the pharmacy work areas as described in the Apollo References Manual and assists with quality control and performance improvement activities as directed by the franchised pharmacy manager. This position reports to the pharmacy manager.


Qualifications

  • Required: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Required: At least 18 years of age
  • Required: Good interactive skills with employees, supervisors, referral sources, and consumers
  • Required: Registered with State Board of Pharmacy (if applicable in state(s) of service area)
  • Required: Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications with good computer skills.
  • Preferred: National pharmacy technician certification (CPhT)
  • Preferred: Completion of pharmacy technician training preferred
  • Preferred: Experience in laboratory or health care setting
  • Preferred: At least 1 year of Infusion Pharmacy Experience


Physical Requirements:

May require lifting over 40 lb. Example: Lifting cases of enteral formula and infusion solutions

May require standing for extended periods. Example: Standing at laminar air flow hood during product preparation

May require frequent use of computer keyboard. Example: Data entry, patient documentation, label preparations, etc.

May require use of latex products. Example: clean and sterile gloves; latex injection ports

May require moderate to high amounts of driving (extended sitting). Example: Patient deliveries.

In this position, you will be calling on medical clinics to obtain infusion referrals including IVIG, Biologics, and Alpha 1 therapies. The ideal candidate will have prior formal sales training and experience in medical sales or clinical background.
