Experienced HVAC Installer / Service Technician
We are looking for an experienced HVAC Installer / Service Technician with at least 4 years of hands-on field experience. This is not an entry-level or helper position. The ideal candidate can independently perform residential HVAC installations, equipment change-outs, start-ups, troubleshooting, and repairs, with additional experience in light-commercial HVAC.
What You'll Do
- Install split systems, heat pumps, air handlers, furnaces, and package units
- Perform complete residential new-construction HVAC installations
- Complete equipment replacements and system change-outs
- Install and connect refrigerant line sets
- Braze copper using proper nitrogen-purge procedures
- Pressure test and leak-check refrigeration systems
- Properly evacuate and charge HVAC systems
- Perform system start-up, testing, and commissioning
- Diagnose and repair residential HVAC service issues
- Troubleshoot low- and line-voltage electrical systems
- Test capacitors, contactors, relays, transformers, motors, and compressors
- Read wiring diagrams and equipment schematics
- Install and troubleshoot thermostats and HVAC controls
- Check refrigerant pressures, temperatures, superheat, and subcooling
- Check temperature split and system airflow
- Install and repair condensate drains
- Install, modify, and connect ductwork as needed
- Perform service and installation work on light-commercial equipment
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment
- Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, supervisors, and other trades
- Follow OSHA, company, and manufacturer safety procedures
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 4 years of HVAC field experience
- Strong residential installation experience
- Residential service and troubleshooting experience
- Residential new-construction experience
- Light-commercial HVAC experience
- Ability to complete installations with limited supervision
- Proficient with copper brazing and nitrogen-purge procedures
- Knowledge of pressure testing, evacuation, leak detection, and refrigerant charging
- Strong understanding of the refrigeration cycle
- Knowledge of superheat and subcooling
- Strong HVAC electrical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to use a multimeter
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and schematics
- Experience with system start-up and commissioning
- Ability to safely work on ladders and in attics, crawl spaces, and other typical HVAC environments
- Professional attitude and strong customer-service skills
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
Personal Hand Tools
Candidates must have their own standard HVAC hand tools necessary to perform installation and service work.
