Position Overview
The ideal candidate will manage a caseload of estate planning matters from initial client consultation through document execution, with opportunities to grow into probate administration and trust litigation support as the practice expands.
Key Responsibilities
- Meet with clients to assess estate planning needs and goals
- Draft wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives
- Advise clients on estate and gift tax planning strategies
- Guide clients through trust funding and asset titling
- Assist with probate administration and trust administration matters
- Review and update existing estate plans for current clients
- Maintain accurate case files and ensure compliance with Wisconsin probate and trust law
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in Wisconsin (in good standing)
- 2+ years of experience in estate planning, probate, or trust administration preferred (candidates with strong related experience will be considered)
- Strong working knowledge of Wisconsin probate, trust, and marital property law
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to explain complex legal concepts in plain language
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Comfortable working independently and managing a caseload with minimal oversight
- A genuine interest in client service and a client-first approach to practicing law
