Our company was founded in 1991 and has a reputation for high quality and reliable service. We work across Metro Phoenix and Maricopa County for commercial General Contractors. We are looking for a detail-oriented and driven Estimator to join our team and support our underground wet utility projects.Position Overview: As an Estimator, you will prepare accurate cost estimates for commercial underground wet utility projects. You'll work closely with project managers to ensure that projects are scoped accurately and priced effectively. You will support project management and help ensure cost control throughout the project. This is an excellent opportunity for someone eager to develop their career in estimating and construction, with a focus on underground utility systems.Key Responsibilities:Prepare cost estimates for underground wet utility projects (water, sewer, storm drains, firelines, etc.)Review project plans, specifications, and contracts to gather necessary information for accurate estimatesPerform accurate quantity take-offs for materials, labor, and equipmentResearch and analyze market rates for materials, labor, and subcontractorsObtain and compare subcontractor, vendor, and supplier pricingBuild and maintain long-term relationships with key vendorsCollaborate with senior estimators, project managers, and clients to review and revise estimates as neededSupport in the preparation of bid packages and proposalsHandle multiple bids per week and meet strict deadlinesConduct site visits to assess conditions and gather information necessary for accurate estimatingMaintain a tracker of all projects and their various stages of the bid processHelp identify potential risks and cost-saving opportunities in project scope and executionStay up-to-date on industry trends, standards, and new materials or technologiesAssist with Project Management with construction phase as neededAdditional duties may include ordering, purchase, orders, scheduling, RFI's, submittals, bluestake and change ordersQualifications:Experience in construction estimatingExperience in underground utilitiesAbility to read blueprintsUnderstanding of MAG specifications and local supplementsProficiency in office software including, Excel, Word, Outlook, and AdobeAbility to multi-task and good time-management skillsStrong interpersonal and communication skillsCritical-thinker and problem-solverMust be able to work independently as well as part of a teamExcellent attention to detail and strong analytical skillsGood communication and teamwork skillsWillingness to learn and grow in the field of estimating and constructionAbility to lift or move up to 30 poundsCapable of working in all outdoor temperatures and weather conditionsAttention to safety and safety standardsValid driver's licenseWhat We Offer:Competitive salary and benefits packageWeekly PaychecksPaid Time OffSIMPLE IRA Retirement Plan with employer matchingOpportunities for career advancement and professional developmentA supportive and collaborative work environmentExposure to exciting and challenging projects in the underground utilities sectorHealth and dental insuranceIn person work environment8-10 hour shiftIf you're passionate about construction estimating and want to join our team, we'd love to hear from you!Pay: DOE
