Position: Laboratory Assistant (SEIU)
Location: San Luis Obispo, California
Contract: 8 Weeks

Schedule:
Rotating 5×8-hour shifts

Shift times include:
6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
9:00 AM – 7:30 PM
1:30 PM – 12:00 AM
9:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Weekend Requirement: Same schedule as weekdays
Call Required: No
EMR: Epic (Current Epic experience required)
What You'll Need
High School Diploma or GED
Current Certified Phlebotomy Technician I (CPT-I) License
Current BLS Certification
Current Epic experience (Required)
Acute care phlebotomy experience preferred
What You'll Do
Perform venipuncture and specimen collection using age-appropriate techniques
Process, label, accession, and prepare laboratory specimens
Enter patient registrations and laboratory orders accurately
Package and transport specimens while maintaining specimen integrity
Monitor laboratory workflow and prioritize urgent specimens
Answer laboratory calls and communicate results when appropriate
Maintain inventory, documentation, and quality standards
Support a fast-paced hospital laboratory environment
