Job Description
Shape the heartbeat of our automated operations

As the Senior Automation Maintenance Specialist, you are the go-to expert for high-level diagnostics, system ownership, and continuous reliability gains across advanced material-handling and packaging technologies. You’ll lead complex troubleshooting, mentor teammates, and keep our automated equipment running at peak performance.

What a typical night can look like
  • Own the performance of automated systems including conveyors, sortation equipment, ASRS, and packaging lines—solving the tough mechanical, electrical, and controls challenges others escalate.
  • Dig into controls: diagnose PLC logic, tune VFDs, commission/repair servo motion, and resolve industrial networking issues (EtherNet/IP, PROFINET).
  • Act as the technical steward for key systems—untangling advanced faults, timing conflicts, and integration mismatches across subsystems.
  • Lead RCAs and convert findings into reliability improvements, updated standards, and sustainable countermeasures.
  • Design and refine preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Interpret complex electrical drawings, I/O lists, and system documentation to guide fast, safe restores.
  • Partner with OEMs and service vendors on escalations, upgrades, and tricky diagnostics.
  • Record work, findings, and asset health in the CMMS with clear, actionable detail.
  • Support equipment trials, upgrades, and capital implementations from planning through startup.
  • Coach Maintenance Technicians I & II—building capability through hands-on guidance and knowledge sharing.
What you bring
  • Expert-level electrical/controls troubleshooting with strong PLC diagnostic capability.
  • Hands-on know‑how with servo motion, industrial networks, and complex automation systems.
  • Solid mechanical aptitude including power transmission fundamentals.
  • Leadership on the floor—problem solving, prioritization, and mentoring.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.
  • 3+ years maintaining highly automated industrial equipment.
  • Proven experience with PLCs, servos, and advanced electrical fault-finding.
  • Comfort with CMMS usage and data-driven maintenance decisions.
Physical demands
  • Extended periods of standing and walking.
  • Ability to climb, balance, kneel, crouch, and crawl as tasks require.
  • Reach, pull, push, and safely lift items up to 50 lbs of varying size and shape.
  • Operate warehouse tools and equipment such as pallet jacks, box cutters, and carts with coordinated movements.
Schedule
