Job Description
Receptionist $16-$17 an hour
Demonstrates knowledge of age specific developmental factors specific to adult and geriatric
Attends all mandatory in-services by employee’s anniversary date
Acts appropriately under the direction of the Administrator and acts as an active member of the interdisciplinary team
Demonstrates ability to adjust to changes in unit/shift assignments to meet facility needs
Demonstrates knowledge of and complies with the Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program when performing work functions
Demonstrates responsibility for all telephone, intercom and paging system operations.
Performs typing and computer work for all departments, requiring general knowledge of all departmental operations
Processes all mail for residents and delivers it to their rooms. Sorts facility mail, and puts in appropriate mail boxes
Maintains rolodex, resident lists, and resident mail instructions
Assists visitors when appropriate, and ensure the visitors sign-in to visit residents
Is aware of, and adheres to, Resident’s Bill of Rights and Confidentiality of Resident Information
Addresses employee satisfaction issues immediately and assists in resolving the matter in a professional manner
Is aware of Resident Abuse Reporting Law
Participates as assigned in the orientation of new staff and demonstrates a positive, helpful, and enthusiastic attitude
Demonstrates ability to locate emergency equipment (i.e. fire extinguisher, emergency oxygen tank, etc.)
Understands and can demonstrate knowledge of role in Fire and Disaster drills
Demonstrates ability to identify and respond appropriately to potential behavioral outbursts
Uses facility equipment safely
Recognizes, removes and/or reports potential hazards
Follows established safety rules/accident prevention
Addresses residents in a respectful manner
Discusses confidential resident information in appropriate areas only
Other duties as assigned by the Administrator
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Possess a High School degree
Preferred: Associates’ Degree in Secretarial Science
Experience:
Business background, typing skills and computer knowledge
Preferred: Experience appropriate for the requirements of this position
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:
· Must be at least 18 years of age
· Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of office machines and equipment
· Meets health assessment requirements, including two-stage Mantoux skin test
· Must be capable of performing the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations
· Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing, and possess sufficient communication skills to perform the tasks required
