Cross Country Coach

Internal Posting – Middle School Cross Country Coach (Fall 2026)

The season typically begins shortly after the start of the school year and runs through early October, with some planning and organizational tasks taking place before the season begins. This position may be filled by one Head Coach or two Co-Coaches.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan and lead after-school cross country practices three days per week.
• Supervise and run alongside students during practices.
• Coordinate with Poudre School District and meet organizers to register the team and manage participation in approximately five invitational meets.
• Recruit and coordinate parent volunteers or an assistant coach to help support practices and meets.
• Communicate regularly with students and families regarding schedules, uniforms, transportation, and other team logistics.
• Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, perseverance, personal growth, and a love of running.

Qualifications
Previous cross country, track, or distance running experience is preferred. Coaching experience is a plus but is not required. We welcome applicants who have a passion for running, enjoy working with middle school students, and are excited to encourage young athletes in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Stipend
The total stipend for the position is $2,000.

• If the position is filled by one Head Coach, the coach will receive the full $2,000 stipend.
• If the position is filled by two Co-Coaches, the stipend will be split equally, with each coach receiving $1,000.
