product Designer

Launchpad Labor & HCM is seeking a Product Designer to join its team in Fredericksburg, VA.

Position Summary

The Product Designer will partner with product, engineering, and stakeholders to design user-centered experiences that are clear, accessible, and intuitive. You will translate customer needs and business goals into compelling product concepts, workflows, and interfaces.

This role is ideal for a collaborative designer who enjoys moving from discovery to delivery—balancing creativity with strong UX fundamentals, thoughtful interaction design, and polished visual execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end product experiences, from early ideation and research synthesis to final interaction and design specifications.

• Create wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and high-quality interface designs that communicate design intent effectively.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate concepts, iterate based on feedback, and support implementation.

• Contribute to design systems by maintaining consistency, usability standards, and reusable components across product areas.

• Present design work clearly, documenting rationale and tradeoffs to help teams align on solutions.

Required Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience designing digital products with strong user experience and interaction design fundamentals.

• Ability to translate ambiguous problems into structured concepts, flows, and workable designs.

• Strong portfolio showcasing product design projects, including process and outcomes.

• Proficiency in producing clear design artifacts such as wireframes, prototypes, and interface specifications.

• Effective communication and collaboration skills with the ability to incorporate feedback constructively.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on complex product surfaces, including multi-step workflows and data-heavy interfaces.

• Familiarity with usability testing and incorporating user feedback into design iterations.

• Experience collaborating with engineers to ensure designs are feasible and align with implementation realities.

• Exposure to design system thinking, including component-based design and accessibility considerations.

Compensation

Annual salary: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00
