Overview summary
Summit Staffing is seeking an experienced Shipping & Receiving Lead to oversee daily warehouse operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for coordinating inbound and outbound shipments, maintaining inventory accuracy, and leading a team to meet production and customer deadlines. The ideal candidate has strong warehouse leadership experience and is proficient operating a Crown sit-down propane forklift. Responsibilities commonly include leading shipping teams, verifying shipments, operating forklifts, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring safe warehouse operations.

Pay Range: $22- $25
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate daily shipping and receiving operations.
- Assign daily tasks and provide guidance to warehouse team members.
- Load and unload trucks using a Crown sit-down propane forklift.
- Verify incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy.
- Inspect materials for damage, shortages, or discrepancies.
- Prepare shipping paperwork, including Bills of Lading (BOLs), packing slips, and shipping labels.
- Stage materials for production and customer orders.
- Maintain accurate inventory transactions and perform cycle counts.
- Ensure orders are shipped accurately and on time.
- Communicate with production, logistics, carriers, and warehouse personnel.
- Train new employees on warehouse procedures and safety standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow OSHA and company safety policies.
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and warehouse organization.
Skills & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 3 years of Shipping & Receiving experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- Previous Lead or Team Lead experience preferred.
- Experience operating a Crown sit-down propane forklift is required.
- Strong knowledge of shipping documentation and inventory control.
- Experience using ERP or Warehouse Management Systems is a plus.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching throughout the shift.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
- Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures.
