Base Camp Staff (Camping Services)

Position OverviewTo support the Summit Bechtel Reserve through exceptional facility care, logistical coordination, and residential services that enable safe, clean, and welcoming environments for all programs, participants, guests, and staff.Key ResponsibilitiesPhysical labor operations including cleaning, stocking, and preparation for guests and customers Ensure work and customer areas are clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safeEnsure facilities and equipment are left clean and in good repair by both guests and staffPower wash shower houses, sanitize, and stock toilet paper, paper towels, soap, etc.Help clean and maintain all facilities and camp equipmentModel the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactionsMaintain a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work areaPerform additional duties assigned by SBR leadershipAbide by policies and procedures outlined in the SBR staff handbookQualificationsMinimum age: 18+ (16+ if able to commute)Able to obtain SBR driving permit during orientationWilling to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening)Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communicationPhysical & Practical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, and hike up to 8 hours daily and ability to lift/move up to 50 poundsComplete the Annual Health and Medical Record, including height/weight guidelinesHousing: 10'x12' platform tent in Staff Camp | Uniform: Summit Staff Uniform | Work Hours: 45-55Desired TraitsHigh emotional intelligence (such as self/social awareness and team dynamics)Positive and cheerful attitude with a strong customer-service focusAdaptability in a fast-paced environment with ability to learn/develop hard and soft skillsAbility to connect with individuals from diverse age groups, maturity, and backgrounds
