Food & Beverage Support Staff (Busser | Food Runner | Barback)

The Food & Beverage Support Staff role is the backbone of service at Flip Flops Poolside Bar & Grill. This position is designed for individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments and understand that exceptional guest experiences are built through teamwork, speed, and attention to detail.

This is a hybrid support role responsible for assisting front-of-house and bar operations through bussing, food running, barback support, and maintaining cleanliness and flow throughout the restaurant and bar areas.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience Support

• Ensure tables, bar areas, and service stations are clean, reset, and ready for incoming guests
• Assist in maintaining a welcoming, organized, and high-energy environment
• Interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner when needed

Food Running

• Deliver food orders quickly and accurately from the kitchen to guests
• Confirm order accuracy and presentation before leaving the kitchen
• Communicate effectively with kitchen and service staff to ensure timing and quality
• Assist servers by providing table touchpoints when delivering food

Bussing

• Clear and reset tables efficiently to support table turnover
• Maintain cleanliness of dining areas, including floors, chairs, and surrounding spaces
• Transport dishes, glassware, and utensils to dishwashing areas
• Monitor guest flow and proactively support seating readiness

Barback Support

• Restock bar supplies including liquor, beer, mixers, garnishes, ice, and glassware
• Assist bartenders in maintaining a clean and organized bar area
• Change kegs, refill ice bins, and ensure bar is fully stocked during service
• Remove empty glassware and keep bar top clean and guest-ready

Operational Support

• Assist with opening and closing duties across bar and dining areas
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of all service stations
• Support events, rallies, and high-volume service periods
• Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant or hospitality experience preferred, but not required
• Strong work ethic and willingness to take initiative
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Excellent communication and time management skills
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs

Preferred Skills

• Experience supporting both bar and restaurant operations
• Knowledge of basic restaurant flow and service timing
• Ability to anticipate team needs and act proactively
• Positive attitude and strong sense of urgency
