Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Maintain a neat, clean, and orderly environment.
  • Collaborate with staff members in preparing adaptive material for classroom or group setting.
  • Support inventory management, care, and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
  • Provide supervision and assistance to assigned participants to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Assist with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, socialization, and domestic (housekeeping) tasks.
  • Complete required reports and document routine and unusual events.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
  • Participate in staff development training programs and special events as assigned.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance (an essential job function).
  • Attend scheduled staff meetings.
  • Ensure participant safety by participating in required monthly fire drills, AED training, CPR training, and other safety procedures.
  • Assist the Lead Instructor in developing meaningful and engaging activities for participants.
  • Collaborate with staff to maintain a professional and clean facility.
  • Ensure participant safety during van transporting and during community outings.


Required Skills & Attributes (Must Have)
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members.
  • Demonstrated passion for serving others, integrity, positive attitude, and strong moral character.
  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule.
  • Adherence to all policies and procedures regarding participant protocols, supervision, and safety.
  • Reliable transportation with current insurance coverage.


Qualifications
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and caregiver screening.
  • Proof of high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changes in daily routines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional appearance and attitude.
  • Ability to function effectively as a collaborative team member.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.


Working Conditions
  • Light lifting and carrying; frequent bending and stooping.
  • Work environment includes frequent interruptions.
  • Must maintain emotional control in stressful situations.
  • May be required to assist with hygiene and self-help needs of participants during emergency situations.
