Project Executive
Job Description
A long-standing and respected general contractor is seeking a Project Executive to lead multiple building construction projects while helping expand market share within the central New York area. This role is ideal for a seasoned leader who excels in both project delivery and strategic business development. The selected candidate will act as a key figure in client relations, operational oversight, and team mentorship—helping to maintain and grow the firm's reputation for excellence in safety, quality, and innovation.
This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for someone with the skills to drive large-scale commercial construction projects while fostering strong partnerships and building the firm’s regional presence.
Key Responsibilities
Provide executive oversight for multiple construction projects from preconstruction through close-out
Cultivate and grow client relationships, serving as a primary point of contact for high-level project discussions
Drive business development efforts to secure new opportunities and expand presence in the Central NY region
Partner with estimating and preconstruction teams to evaluate pursuits and ensure cost competitiveness
Lead internal teams, mentoring project managers, superintendents, and junior staff for long-term development
Guide execution strategies around cost control, scheduling, subcontractor performance, and quality assurance
Represent the company at industry events, agency meetings, and key client presentations
Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and performance across all active projects
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent industry experience)
Minimum of 12+ years of construction experience with 8+ in a senior leadership role managing complex commercial projects
Proven ability to oversee projects ranging from $5M to $50M+, with expertise in scheduling, contracts, and budget management
Demonstrated success in both operations leadership and client-facing business development
Strong knowledge of building systems, jobsite logistics, permitting, and construction best practices
Proficiency in construction management tools such as Procore, MS Project, and Microsoft Office
Experience mentoring teams and developing high-performance cultures
Local market knowledge and relationships in the Syracuse/Central NY area are a plus
