Project Manager

Job Overview: The Project Manager plays a crucial role in the successful planning, execution, and completion of infrastructure projects with our client. This position requires strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, as well as a deep understanding of project management principles and best practices. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering infrastructure projects on time and within budget, while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and client satisfaction.

Experience Required

%AA; Entry-level to master level experience managing infrastructure projects, including roadway, utility, and site development projects.

%AA; Experience with various project delivery methods (design-bid-build, design-build, etc.).

%AA; Proven ability to manage project budgets, schedules, and resources effectively.

%AA; Strong understanding of construction contracts, specifications, and drawings.

%AA; Experience with risk management and mitigation strategies.

%AA; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, contractors, and internal teams.

Educational/Certification Requirements

%AA; Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

%AA; Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.

%AA; Professional Engineer (PE) license in Tennessee preferred.

%AA; Completion of P.A.C.E. certification within 90 days of employment.

%AA; Other Industry Certifications (e.g., Asphalt, Concrete, Erosion Control, Earthwork, OSHA10)

%AA; Advanced Microsoft Office, AutoCAD (Civil 3D)

%AA; ESRI GIS skills and experience preferred

%AA; Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

%AA; Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.

%AA; Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

%AA; Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and ability to operate a company vehicle.

%AA; Pass drug screening and criminal background check. Random drug screenings are conducted during employment.

Responsibilities and Duties

%AA; Design: Oversee the development of detailed designs for various utility systems, including plans, profiles, and details, using AutoCAD Civil 3D and other design software.

%AA; Analysis: Perform engineering analyses to ensure the proper sizing and functioning of utility systems, utilizing appropriate software and methods specific to the utility discipline.

%AA; Planning: Oversee the planning and coordination of utility infrastructure for various projects, including site development, roadway, and drainage projects

%AA; Permitting: Prepare and submit permit applications to local, state, and federal agencies.

%AA; Construction Support: Provide technical support during construction, including responding to RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, and conducting site visits.

%AA; Client Coordination: Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide engineering solutions.

%AA; Utility Coordination: Coordinate with utility companies to ensure proper integration of new infrastructure with existing utility systems. This includes facilitating communication, resolving conflicts, and ensuring compliance with utility company requirements.

%AA; Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other engineers, designers, and project managers to ensure project success.

%AA; Support the professional development of junior engineers and project managers by providing guidance on project execution, technical standards, and client management expectations.

%AA; Assist in training team members on roles, responsibilities, project workflows, and internal processes to promote consistency and accountability across project delivery.

%AA; Contribute to knowledge-sharing efforts that strengthen project management capabilities, including mentoring staff on best practices in coordination, documentation, and stakeholder communication.

%AA; Reinforce clarity of roles and responsibilities within project teams to support efficient execution and alignment with company standards.

Work Environment

This position offers a dynamic work environment that combines office-based collaboration with exciting fieldwork opportunities. While in-person attendance is currently required for meetings and events, you'll also spend time in the field, contributing directly to the projects that make a difference in our communities. Hybrid work arrangements may be eligible in the future with supervisor approval.
