JOB DESCRIPTION

Position: General Laborer / Sorter (Ferrous)

Facility: ALL

Reports to: Yard Supervisor / Shredder Manager

Date: January, 2020

Ferrous

• Identifies and sorts different kinds of metal.
• Sorts material according to customer specifications.
• General clean up i.e. weeping/shoveling around conveyer.
• Other responsibilities as assigned or required.

Safety:

Wears all necessary PPE when working in the yard. Follows company safety standards at all times. Failure to follow safety requirements may result in loss of position.

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED preferred but not required. Must be able to interact with customers and vendors in a friendly and courteous manner.

Prior experience operating heavy machinery preferred but not required as we will train candidates. Some mechanical aptitude necessary. Will use hand tools for minor repairs. Must be able to lift a minimum of 30-50 lbs and 100+lbs on 2-person lift.
