On-Call Cook

Mosholu Parkway Nursing Home is seeking a reliable and experienced On-Call Cook to join our Dietary Services team. The Cook will prepare nutritious, appetizing meals for residents while following established menus, dietary requirements, and food safety standards.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook meals according to menus, recipes, and portion guidelines.

• Follow therapeutic and texture-modified diet requirements.

• Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen.

• Properly store, label, and rotate food and supplies.

• Monitor food temperatures and complete required documentation.

• Assist with meal service and kitchen cleanup as needed.

• Follow all facility, sanitation, and infection-control policies.

Qualifications:

• Previous cooking experience required; nursing home, healthcare, or institutional food service experience preferred.

• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.

• Ability to follow recipes, menus, and dietary instructions.

• Reliable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team.

• Must be flexible and available for on-call shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
