The Supervisor is responsible for assuring all procedures and policies are followed to achieve the highest level of Safety, Quality, and Productivity. This position will be looked upon to drive the business forward, in the most cost efficient manner possible, in alignment with plant goals set forth by the company . It is the responsibility of this individual to ensure that the employees are continually working in a safe environment and have all the necessary training and equipment (tools) to do their jobs safely. The Supervisor is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, evaluation and development of production operators to work across functional department in food safety, quality, maintenance, and production. The supervisor will lead and develop a team of Union hourly operators. The supervisor will also work alongside plant leadership on new initiatives and projects coming into the plant. This position may work in excess of 8 hours daily if needed to accomplish manufacturing goals or supervisory support.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business or related field - or 10 years of manufacturing experience with 5 years in a leading role.

Experience:

  • Minimum of five years working in a fast-paced high volume manufacturing environment
  • Supervisory experience in a union environment is preferred
  • Experience in the food and/or beverage industry is required
  • Experience with BRC preferred
  • Spanish speaking is a plus

Knowledge

  • Microsoft Word and Excel is required
  • Strong leadership capability
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt in short notice situations
  • Team builder who can consistently motivate team members to contribute to continuous operation improvement

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and direct manufacturing employees in all aspects of the production environment.
  • Maintain efficiency standards and work towards continuous improvement in all areas of production operation.
  • Responsible for plant safety practices, quality practices, GMP’s, employee time management and payroll records, accuracy of inventory transactions and cost control.
  • Maintain a positive, clean and safe work environment for all employees.
  • Review relevant documentation for adequacy in regard to established quality system.
