Security Officer

Shaw Security Services INC is seeking a Security Officer to support the safety and security of assigned locations in Bloomington, IN.

Position Summary

The Security Officer will help maintain a safe environment by monitoring premises, responding to incidents, and ensuring that security procedures are followed consistently. This role is part-time and onsite, supporting daily security needs with professionalism and attention to detail.

You will be responsible for observing activities, deterring potential risks, and coordinating with team members as needed to ensure issues are addressed promptly and appropriately.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor assigned areas for safety, security, and unusual activity, and report findings in a timely manner

• Patrol premises and conduct routine checks to ensure procedures are followed

• Respond to incidents, alarms, and requests for assistance, escalating as appropriate

• Maintain accurate records of observations, events, and incident details

• Provide courteous, professional support to clients, visitors, and personnel while enforcing site rules

Required Qualifications

• Ability to work part-time onsite in Bloomington, IN

• Strong observation and judgment skills with a calm, professional demeanor

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to security procedures

• Basic communication skills to clearly report observations and incident information

• Willingness to work varying shifts as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in security, safety, or related roles

• Familiarity with incident reporting and basic security documentation

• Experience handling routine issues in a customer-focused, professional manner

• Comfort working independently while remaining attentive to assigned responsibilities

• CPR and AED

Compensation

Hourly rate: $15.00 - $18.00
