Prep Cook

We are seeking a detail-oriented, efficient, and passionate Prep Cook to join our commissary kitchen team at Azalea Fresh Market.

As a Prep Cook, you will play a vital role in preparing high-quality ingredients and dishes that supply our in-store prepared food program.

This behind-the-scenes role is key to ensuring that our guests consistently enjoy fresh, flavorful, and ready-to-go meals that reflect the culinary quality and care we’re known for.

Requirements/Responsibilities

Responsibilities:
❖Prepare, portion, and package ingredients and menu items according to standardized recipes and production schedules

❖Ensure food safety and sanitation procedures are followed in all aspects of food handling and preparation

❖Assist in the setup and breakdown of prep stations, equipment, and kitchen tools

❖Properly label, date, and store food items to maintain freshness and reduce waste

❖Maintain cleanliness and organization of the commissary kitchen throughout each shift

❖Support the culinary team with occasional tasks such as inventory checks, deliveries, and kitchen organization

❖Collaborate with the Prepared Foods Manager and store staff to ensure consistency and quality in all menu items

❖Report any equipment issues, supply shortages, or safety concerns in a timely manner

Skills:
❖1+ year of prep cook or kitchen experience preferred (commissary, restaurant, or catering background a plus)

❖Strong understanding of food safety and kitchen sanitation standards

❖Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment

❖Ability to take direction and work independently with minimal supervision

❖Excellent time management and organizational skills

❖Must be able to lift 40 lbs. and stand for extended periods

❖Punctual, reliable, and team-oriented

❖Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, or holidays as needed

Experience:
❖Kitchen: 3 years (Required)

Shift availability:
❖Day Shift (Preferred)
❖Night Shift (Preferred)
