The Host/Hostess serves as the first point of contact for guests, playing a crucial role in creating a welcoming and positive dining experience. This position is responsible for managing guest flow, coordinating seating arrangements, and ensuring efficient communication between the front-of-house and kitchen staff. The Host/Hostess must maintain a professional and friendly demeanor while handling guest inquiries, reservations, and any concerns that arise. By effectively managing wait times and seating logistics, the Host/Hostess contributes to the overall operational success and customer satisfaction of the establishment. Ultimately, this role is vital in fostering a hospitable environment that encourages repeat patronage and positive word-of-mouth recommendations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Strong oral communication skills with the ability to speak, read, and comprehend instructions clearly.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy weights safely as required by the role.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and problem-solving abilities in a customer-facing environment.
- Must have AZ Food Handlers Certificate
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience specifically as a host or hostess in a busy restaurant setting.
- Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome guests promptly and courteously upon arrival.
- Manage reservations and walk-in guest seating using the Point-Of-Sale system.
- Communicate effectively with guests to understand their needs and preferences.
- Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth table turnover and service flow.
- Assist guests with special requests and resolve any issues or complaints professionally.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host/hostess station and waiting area.
- Lift and carry items as needed to support service operations, adhering to safety guidelines.
- Provide clear and accurate information about menu items, specials, and restaurant policies.
