We are actively seeking a Survey Party Chief in Olympia, WA. Our Survey Party Chief will work as a member of a survey crew performing boundary, topography, ALTA, right of way, and construction surveys for public and private clients. The selected individual will also be responsible for the operation and maintenance of survey equipment, taking field notes, data collection, performing calculations and working with our staff and clients on these projects. Involvement in the office will include reducing survey data, performing calculations, copying and filing of this data.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and perform boundary, topography, ALTA, right-of-way, and construction surveys
  • Operate and maintain survey equipment, including Trimble total stations, Trimble GPS equipment, and Leica electronic levels
  • Collect and process field data; perform complex survey computations using software such as Trimble Business Center and Leica
  • Maintain detailed and accurate field notes, data collection files, and computation sheets
  • Inspect and verify accuracy of deliverables before submission
  • Coordinate, lead, and mentor survey crew personnel


Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 5 years of field survey experience
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong work ethic and accountability
  • Clean driving record required (no more than 3 accidents and/or moving violations in the last 36 months or 2 accidents and or moving violations within the last 12 months)


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree
  • Trimble Total Station and GPS experience preferred
  • Proficiencies with MS Word and Excel a plus
