Job Summary

We are seeking Behavior Technicians (BTs) to provide after-school, in-home ABA services to children and adolescents throughout Long Island. Behavior Technicians work directly with clients in their homes to implement individualized treatment plans developed and supervised by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).

The BT will support clients in developing skills related to communication, social interaction, daily living, independence, and appropriate behavior. Responsibilities include implementing skill acquisition and behavior reduction programs, collecting accurate data, and collaborating with the supervising BCBA and family.

Previous ABA experience is preferred but not required. Training can be provided to qualified candidates who are interested in entering the field of Applied Behavior Analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement Treatment Plans: Follow individualized behavior intervention and skill acquisition programs developed by the supervising BCBA.
  • Provide In-Home ABA Services: Work one-on-one with clients in their homes during after-school and evening hours.
  • Teach New Skills: Implement evidence-based teaching strategies, including Discrete Trial Training (DTT), Natural Environment Teaching (NET), prompting, reinforcement, and prompt fading.
  • Behavior Support: Implement behavior reduction strategies according to the client's Behavior Intervention Plan and supervisor guidance.
  • Data Collection: Accurately collect and record data on client performance, behaviors, and progress toward treatment goals.
  • Promote Independence: Support the development of communication, social, leisure, self-help, and daily living skills.
  • Documentation: Complete required session notes, progress documentation, and incident reports accurately and on time.
  • Collaboration: Communicate professionally with BCBAs, caregivers, and other members of the client's treatment team.
  • Training and Supervision: Participate in ongoing training, supervision, and performance feedback provided by the supervising BCBA.
  • Professional Conduct: Maintain client confidentiality and follow all agency policies, professional standards, and applicable ethical requirements.
Schedule

This is a part-time, after-school position. Most sessions take place in clients' homes during weekday afternoon and evening hours.

Requirements
    Qualifications
  • Certification: A current RBT certification is preferred for the job, but not required. (WE CAN HELP CERTIFY)
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience: Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or behavior challenges is preferred
  • Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal, and observational skills. Ability to follow detailed instructions and protocols. Proficient in data collection and basic computer skills.
  • Personal Qualities: Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in helping individuals improve their quality of life.
