Water/Wastewater Practice Lead

Overview

We are seeking a Water/Wastewater Practice Lead to guide the strategic direction of the practice across all metro locations — leading the production team, managing resources, and ensuring seamless project execution. This role develops proposals/contracts that support profitability and scope alignment, drives short- and long-term strategic planning, cultivates client relationships, identifies cross-sell opportunities, and represents McAdams at regional/national industry events as a thought leader.

What You'll Do

• Own strategic direction of the practice: lead the production team, manage resources, resolve complex technical problems, collaborate on project execution
• Coordinate resource scheduling to manage workload and deadlines
• Develop proposals/contracts ensuring adequate scope, profitability, and viable schedules
• Understand client business needs to identify new opportunities and cross-sell firm services
• Own short- and long-term strategic market sector planning
• Own profitable operation of the Water/Wastewater Practice Area (Water Resources division)
• Represent McAdams at industry events/conferences; build thought leadership

What You'll Bring

• PE required
• B.S. in Engineering
• 10+ years related experience/training
• Strong motivation to build a Water/Wastewater practice
• Proven business development track record with key client relationships
• Ability to source, grow, train, and lead PM/design teams
• Technical civil engineering expertise in Water/Wastewater
• Demonstrated leadership (independent + team-based project delivery)
• Ability to independently manage/grow key relationships
• Knowledge of budget, profit, and revenue expectations
• Strategic/critical thinking for growth planning
• Established community relationships valuable to practice development
