Please use the link to applyCrane Operator- North Dakota (paycomonline.net)Purpose: Operates crane to lift, positions and places machinery, equipment or other large objects at constructionsites and industrial facilities.Work Schedule: Varies by location. Must have open availability any time any day of the week. Length ofemployment is limited to job assignment and/or project duration.Essential Skills (may include but are not limited to the ability to:)Must have a nationally accredited certification and State Certifications where required.Must have a current health clearance to operate hoisting equipment.Drive trucks to worksites.Place blocks and outriggers to prevent capsizing when lifting heavy loads.Start crane engine.Move levers and pedals to rotate crane on chassis to raise and lower crane boom and loadlines.Operate crane according to signals from helper.Bolt boom sections together to extend or modify boom for pile driving or high lifting.Work within precise limits and standards of accuracy.Work within company policy as outlined in the Samuel EPC Craft Handbook and maintain compliancewith both the Samuel EPC Human Resources Policy Manual and the Samuel EPC Safety Manual.Perform other duties as assigned by the foreman/supervisor as needed.Essential QualificationsThree (3) years minimum Field experience in tradeAble to identify all hand signals, weight limits, safety regulations, and operating codes that are relevantfor crane operation.Must have current drivers license and other certification if required by OSHA, state, or federal regulationsAbility to work with others to achieve job goalsRead, write and communicate using the English language sufficient to perform job functions (otherpreferences will be given for special language skills where there is a business need)Physical RequirementsStand or walk for long periods of timeUse arms and hands to reach for, handle or manipulate objectsLift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50 poundswith assistanceClimb up and down ladders, scaffolds and other objectsStoop, kneel, crouch and crawlSee well (naturally or with correction)Eyehand coordinationGood physical fitnessGood sense of balanceWork at great heightsTool RequirementsSteel toed work bootsRaincoat or ponchoEnvironment: Construction Workers perform physically demanding work including lifting and carryingheavy objects, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling in awkward positions. Some work at greatheights, or outdoors in all weather conditions. With some projects, work exposure to harmful/hazardousmaterials, chemicals, fumes, odors, lead-based paints, asbestos, loud noise, or dangerous machinerymay exist. To avoid injury, workers in these jobs wear safety clothing, such as gloves, hardhats,protective chemical suits, and devices to protect their eyes, respiratory system, or hearing.
