Job Summary

MacLean-Fogg is hiring an Accountant at our Mundelein, Illinois facility. In this role, you will support general accounting, financial reporting, and analysis while helping maintain accurate financial data across accounts payable, the general ledger, close activities, budgeting, and related processes. You will also collaborate across teams to strengthen reporting accuracy, support audits, and identify process improvements.

  • Schedule: Standard business hours

  • Pay: $65,000 - $73,000

  • Employment Type: Full-time / Salary

What You'll Do as an Accountant
  • Manage accounts payable activities, helping ensure transactions are processed accurately and on time.

  • Maintain general ledger and related accounting records in alignment with accounting principles and organizational policies.

  • Perform monthly reconciliations of accounts payable balance sheet accounts, investigate discrepancies, and resolve issues promptly.

  • Prepare accounts payable and related cash reports, manage vendor terms and statements, and support reporting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

  • Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities, including review of month-end vendor accruals and communication of findings with managers.

  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors by preparing documentation, responding to requests, and addressing audit findings.

  • Assist with annual budgets, forecasts, variance analysis, annual vendor spend analysis, and expense tracking to identify cost-control and optimization opportunities.

  • Identify accounting process improvements and use accounting software and ERP systems to improve workflow efficiency, data accuracy, and reporting capabilities.

  • Bachelor's degree.

  • 2-4 years of accounting experience.
