Counterperson for Dry Cleaners

We are seeking a friendly, detail-oriented, and dependable Counterperson to join our team! In this role, you will be the face of our store, handling day-to-day customer drop-offs and pick-ups, entering orders into our system, and preparing garments for processing. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in excellent customer service, and is willing to jump in and assist with production when needed.

Responsibilities

• Customer Service: Warmly greet customers, process drop-offs and pick-ups, take payments, and issue receipts with a positive attitude.
  
  
• Order Processing & Tagging: Accurately enter orders into the register system, inspect garments for stains or damage, and properly tag items for cleaning.
  
  
• Garment Assembly & Bagging: Sort, assemble completed orders, and bag garments to ensure they are ready for customer collection.
  
  
• Production Support: Assist with assembly, pressing, sorting, or light production duties as needed during peak business hours.
  
  
• Store Upkeep: Keep the counter area, front counter workspace, and waiting room clean, organized, and welcoming.
  
  

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills and a customer-first mindset.
  
  
• High attention to detail (essential for spotting garment care tags, stains, and accurate tagging).
  
  
• Ability to basic math and operate a computerized register / POS system quickly and accurately.
  
  
• Willingness to work well in a team environment and assist in production when needed.
  
  
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and comfortably lift laundry/garment bags.
  
  
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
