Vocational Trainer

POSITION SUMMARY:The Vocational Trainer provides vocational training to adults with intellectual and physical disabilities in a sheltered workshop setting. He/she shares responsibilities with other vocational trainers for the daily supervision, care, and training of individuals attending the Vocational Training Center. No experience necessary, we will train you! Shift is Monday- Friday 8a-430pPOSITION REQUIREMENTS: GED, High School Diploma, or ABLE Test (provided on-site) along with 3 letters of recommendation.Must be at least 18 years of age.Must have a valid Texas Drivers License.Must pass pre-employment drug screening.Must have the ability to lift, bend stoop, and remain on feetMust have good driving recordMust have ability to read and understand written and verbal instructionsMust be able to complete all trainingPrimary Duties:1. Ensure implementation of all SPO's2. Train clients to complete job assignments3. Maintain a daily documentation of: a)Consumer Pay Records b)Incident/Injury Reports c)Behavior Therapy Programs4. Monitor all clients to ensure health and safety, providing intervention as needed5. Document work completion by clients with D.O.L standards6. Treat all clients with dignity and respect7. Serve all meals, snacks, and beverages for described diet in a normalized and sanitay manner, implenenting adaptive equipment and special procedures as needed.8. Assist clients in performance of personal care needs i.e., toileting, grooming, lifting, etc. ensuring their privacy and dignityStandards of work behaviors:1. Follow Advo Companies, Inc policy and procedures and safety rules2. Interacts with the consumers in an emotional, supportive and therapeutic manner.3. Shall be responsible to maintaining confidentiality regarding all consumers' personal information4. Establishes and maintains effective work relationships with individuals serve, supervisors, co-workers, and visitors.5. Maintain a clean, courteous, and professional appearance at all times, especially when dealing with the public6. Report to work in a timely fashion and maintain a good work attendance
