The NICU RN will care for a diverse neonatal population in a 40-bed Level III NICU, ranging from stable feeder-growers to critically ill Level III patients. The ideal candidate will have strong neonatal clinical skills and the ability to adapt quickly to a new environment.
Responsibilities
Provide specialized NICU care to neonatal patients during evening shifts.
Monitor and document patient status, vitals, and clinical changes accurately.
Maintain infection control and safety protocols specific to NICU settings.
Respond promptly to clinical alarms and emergencies with appropriate interventions.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to coordinate care plans and handoffs.
Document care activities in electronic health records with accuracy and timeliness.
Participate in performance metrics and quality improvement initiatives.
Demonstrate reliability and accountability for individual outcomes within a team setting.
Educate families on infant care, discharge planning, and follow-up needs.
Demonstrate ongoing professional development and pursue advanced certifications.
Utilize data-driven pipelines and territory-focused planning to optimize patient outcomes.
Experience/Qualifications
Active RN license with NICU or neonatal specialization
BLS/ACLS certification with neonatal resuscitation preferred
Experience in NICU care and patient monitoring
Strict adherence to NICU infection control protocols
Ability to respond to clinical alarms and emergencies promptly
Evening shift availability with on-site presence
Accurate EHR documentation and charting skills
Effective collaboration with interdisciplinary team
Participation in quality improvement and performance metrics
Family education and discharge planning experience
