Registered Nurse - Pediatric Intensive Care Unit
Job Summary
Provides critical care nursing to pediatric patients with life-threatening illnesses or injuries. Monitors and manages complex, high-acuity conditions in infants, children, and adolescents, collaborating closely with the pediatric care team and families.
Education & Experience
• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Required)
• Minimum 1-2 years of pediatric or critical care nursing experience (Preferred)
Licenses & Certifications
• Current RN license in state of practice (Required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Required)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (Required)
• Critical Care Registered Nurse - Pediatric (CCRN-Pediatric) certification (Preferred)
Key Responsibilities
• Performs continuous assessment and monitoring of critically ill pediatric patients.
• Manages ventilator support, hemodynamic monitoring, and complex medication administration.
• Recognizes and responds to rapid changes in pediatric patient condition, including codes.
• Collaborates with physicians, respiratory therapy, and child life specialists on plan of care.
• Provides age-appropriate education and emotional support to patients and families.
• Documents assessments, interventions, and patient response in the medical record.
