Position: Equipment Operator
Pay Rate: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Requirements:
- Valid State of Florida Driver's License
- Ability to pass background and drug screenings
- Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English
Job Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy machinery (e.g., excavators, skid steers) to dig and prepare trenches for installing and repairing water mains, valves, and air release valves.
- Perform careful excavation work to ensure proper alignment and depth while avoiding damage to other underground utilities.
- Conduct routine system maintenance, including flushing lines, inspecting infrastructure, and maintaining valves.
- Read and interpret blueprints and utility maps to accurately locate underground systems.
- Adhere to strict safety procedures, including trench and confined space protocols.
- Assist with job site traffic control and respond to emergencies, such as water main breaks.
- Perform basic equipment maintenance to keep machinery in safe working condition.
