Job Summary
The Nurse Staffing Coordinator will establish, implement, and evaluate staffing and scheduling systems to meet the needs of Nursing Services. The Coordinator will schedule appropriate categories and numbers of nursing staff to achieve high-quality nursing care delivery, considering fluctuating census and patient acuity, in the most cost-effective manner.
Minimum 1 year of experience required.
Qualifications:
Minimum 1 year of staffing experience required; 1-3 years preferred.
Prior clerical, administrative support, or human resources experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Proficiency with scheduling software, MS Office Suite, and timekeeping systems.
Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
Knowledge of state and federal healthcare staffing regulations preferred.
Job-Specific Duties:
Make decisions to use outside registry staff only after exhausting all available nursing staff resources.
Ensure prompt, complete, and accurate submission of nursing hours, variance reports, and other required monthly reports.
Meet regularly with Nurse Management to assess staffing needs based on changes in patient acuity or workload.
Handle staff inquiries, issues, and circumstances related to staffing independently and professionally.
Provide all nursing staff with their scheduled work hours.
Monitor, audit, and calculate employee time cards.
Maintain an employee attendance log.
Pre-schedule part-time and per diem staff to fill existing or anticipated scheduling needs.
Pre-schedule staff available for extra time or overtime after part-time and per diem options have been utilized.
Ensure registry staff present current licenses and CPR certifications; maintain accurate files.
Maintain records of staffing variances per unit (Labor Report).
Utilize position control and flexible staffing budgets to provide the most cost-effective staffing while maintaining quality of care.
May be required to assist with the new hire Nursing Department orientation.
Other duties as assigned.

Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors, including but not limited to relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for CMC Phoenix roles, including but not limited to shift differential and other special pay practices. The posted compensation for the position is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay that CMC Phoenix in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting.
