Job Title: General Manager – Steel Fabrication / Service Center

Location: Gary, IN (Easy Highway Access)

Salary: $120,000 – $140,000 annually

Position Summary:

They are seeking an experienced General Manager with a strong background in steel fabrication and service center operations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing fabrication and production teams, optimizing operational processes, and driving business growth. This individual will oversee day-to-day operations, ensure quality standards, manage budgets, and lead a team to achieve strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all operations within the steel service center, including fabrication, production, shipping/receiving, and inventory management.
• Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and operational standards.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of supervisors, production staff, and administrative personnel.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to maximize efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
• Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to meet client needs and ensure exceptional service.
• Manage budgets, cost control, and capital expenditures.
• Analyze operational performance, generate reports, and implement improvements.
• Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience in steel fabrication, service center, or manufacturing operations, including supervisory/management experience.
• Strong understanding of fabrication processes, material handling, and production workflows.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong business acumen, including budget management and operational strategy development.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
