CDL Driver

Opdenaker Trash & Recycling is a family-owned and -operated company that has been providing trash and recycling removal services in Southeastern Pennsylvania and Northern Delaware for over 55 years. Our company is seeking full-time, reliable, and hard-working professional truck drivers to collect commercial and residential wastes and recyclables and transport them to the appropriate disposal facility. Start time is 5:15 am, Monday through Friday, with some Saturday work. There is the potential for overtime. A qualified candidate will have a valid driver's license, a safe driving record, and an excellent attitude. Experienced with the operation of a front-load truck is a plus.Job Description:Maintain a valid PA or DE Commercial Driver License (CDL Class B or equipvalent) with air brake endorsementAbility to meet all requied DOT physical and medical requirementsAbility to safely operate truck in accordance with DOT Regulations, Company Procedures and Policies, and Best Management PracticesAbility to use designated electronic system that delineates the route/pickups/work ordersCommuincate with Dispatch to enusre all stops are picked up, to receive any special instructions, and to communicate any questions about a pickup to DispatchTransport municipal wastes or recyclables to the approved disposal facilityObtain load weight tickets and sign for loads at the apporved disposal facilityPerform daily pre- and post-trip inspections and document them in Opdenaker's electronic record systemPass a pre-hire drug and alcohol screen test per DOT regulations and company policyPass random drug and alcohol est per DOT regulations and company policyAdhere to company's operating procedures and safety policies and practicesAttend and participate in Company traning and safety meetingsAbility to deal with customers and co-workers in an effective and courtesy mannerMaintain a vehicle which is clean inside and out and presents a positive public image of OpdenakerJob and Physical Capabilities:Minimum of 1-year commerical driving experienceAble to start at 5:15 am, Monday through Friday as well as some Saturdays; typically work 8 hours per dayAbility to arrive at Opdenaker's Aston, PA facility on time each scheduled workdayFlexibility to work another route or handle additional stops when neededAbility to lift up to 50 poundsAbility to push/pull wheeled containers of trash/recylcables that require a heavy pushing/pulling force for up to several hundred feet and up and down inclines, depending on the customer's locationManually assist helpers with the collection of trash as well as large or heavy objectsAbility and flexibility to climb in and out of the truck as well as stoop or bend unassisted as needed mulitple times a dayAbility to work outside in all types of weatherSalary:$25 - $30 per hourOvertime eligible at 1.5X over 40 hours in a work weekBenefits:Company-paid Health and Vision insurance for employee and dependentsEmployer-sponsored Health Reimbursement AccountGroup Life Insurance PolicyAdditional voluntary life, critical illness, accident, and short-term disablity policiesEmployee assistance programPaid time off401(K) Plan with employer matching up to 6%Company-proivded safety equipment including boot allowance, shirts, and sweatshirtsBonus payCompany-sponsored events such as Employee Appreciation Day, Christmas PartyAbility to commute/relocate:Aston, PA 19014: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)Experience:Commercial driving: 1 year (Required)License/Certification:CDL (Required) Candidates must pass pre-employment drug test and submit to criminal background check.
