Era Living is seeking a full-time Life Enrichment Director to become the newest member of our team located in our Lakeshore Community in South Seattle/Renton, WA. Available shifts will be scheduled Monday - Friday, must be able to work occasional weekend and evening.

Primary Responsibilities:
This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Life Enrichment department. You will manage a team of recreation activity professionals, design, facilitate, and provide a comprehensive activity program that meets the needs and preferences of all residents and enhances their whole lives interacting with our residents on a dally-basis.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Design, facilitate, schedule and conduct a comprehensive activities program that meets the needs and preferences of all of the residents in the community
Effectively develop and implement Community Relations events
Design monthly the community’s main activity calendar
Schedule, announce, facilitate, and keep records of the Resident Monthly Council meeting
Ensure that the community newsletter is prepared and distributed
Complete new Resident Profile and share this information with the Community Health department as required
Coordinate resident transportation with Life Enrichment staff and the Wellness Center as needed
Partner with residents to find appropriate volunteer opportunities
Design and lead a variety of physical fitness programs based on residents’ abilities and clinical needs; Oversee memory health programs and brain health activities implementing recommended programs as required
Develop a meaningful and accurate budget for annual activity program
Provide mobility support for residents when out of the community
Oversee company vehicle maintenance and cleanliness
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to design creative programs for persons at all levels of clinical and cognitive skill levels
Experience leading fitness groups or working with senior fitness programs, preferred
Sensitive to the needs and concerns of older adults
Ability to schedule tasks effectively to meet strict deadlines and within allotted time
Ability to maintain resident confidentiality to assure all rights are protected
Computer proficiency: able to use a variety of programs including Word, Outlook, Publisher, and Excel
Ability to read, write and communicate in English
Ability to pass DSHS background check, required
Experience managing employees, required
Experience working with seniors, preferred
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Recreation or Therapeutic Recreation and/or CTRS, preferred or 1+ years of similar experience, required
Valid WA State Driver License, required
At the discretion of the Executive Director and if needed to meet the operational requirements of the community, able to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). Must be 25 years’ old.
Complete CDL Supervisor training as required for communities with CDL drivers within 30 days of hire
Previous experience working with older adults or persons with cognitive impairments, preferred
Complete 12 hours of Continuing Education Credits (CEUs) yearly (completed by birth date)
Experience working with program design and development
First Aid and CPR certified or able to obtain within 30 days of hire, required
Food Handler’s Certificate or able to obtain within 14 days of hire, required
Washington State Alcohol Permit or able to obtain within 30 days of hire, required
Complete Caregiver Dementia and Caregiver Mental Health training within 120 days of hire, required
Must complete 70 hour course to earn a long term care aide certificate within 120 days of hire, required
** Not required if worked in boarding home setting in 2011
