Medical Billing & Claims Assistant - Entry Level

We are seeking detail-oriented candidates interested in beginning a career in medical billing, insurance, and healthcare revenue-cycle operations.

This entry-level position assists with claims processing, patient account information, insurance verification, and general billing support.

Responsibilities

• Assist with reviewing and processing medical claims
• Enter patient and billing information into electronic systems
• Verify insurance information and coverage
• Review claims for missing or incomplete information
• Assist with claim-status follow-up
• Update patient account information
• Process basic patient payments and account documentation
• Assist with correcting rejected or incomplete claims
• Maintain accurate billing and insurance records
• Communicate professionally with patients, insurance companies, and internal departments
• Maintain strict confidentiality of protected health information

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Current HIPAA training certificate required
• Basic computer and data-entry skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work accurately with numbers and patient information
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to maintain confidential medical and financial information

Preferred Qualifications

• Medical billing, coding, insurance, or medical terminology coursework
• Previous administrative or data-entry experience
• Familiarity with medical claims or insurance terminology
