Front Desk Insurance Receptionist
Job Description
Full time front desk position in a fast-paced office environment—walk-ins are frequent for anything from payments to quotes to carrier representative visits in the midst of answering phone calls and managing customer accounts for servicing and upcoming renewals. An ideal candidate would thrive in an environment with many moving parts and consistent face-to-face interactions, would be able to handle occasional high-emotion interactions with grace and patience, would have the ability to utilize free time efficiently, and would be able to communicate his/her needs and expectations with both customers and colleagues effectively. Our office has a general expectation of efficient multi-tasking and open communication.
Benefits:
- 40 hours a week: Monday-Friday from 8:30 to 5:30 with a one-hour lunch
- Hourly wage- starting at $18 with future pay raises based on competence and ability to learn and improve

Front Desk:
- Processing cash/check payments in person or that have been mailed in as well as credit card payments in person or over the phone
- Data Entry- collecting and inputting data on prospects and clients
- Processing incoming mail—scanning it into the customers account or scanning and emailing it to the appropriate agent/staff member
- Processing general incoming emails—attaching to the customers account forwarding to the appropriate agent/staff member
- Mailing documents to insureds/carriers if needed by remote staff/agents or customers
- Shredding all scanned documents on a daily basis in compliance with privacy policies mandated by the WA OIC
- Time allowing, mundane office tasks such as tidying and restocking are appreciated

- Utilize the resources available to you – There are workflows for virtually any task you could do, and between carriers and colleagues, many people to ask for guidance from
- Successful completion of our management systems and carriers training courses
- A minimum of six months prior work experience with preference toward a fast-paced position in the service or retail industry
- Experience with handling cash and/or checks is required
- Front desk experience is preferred, but not required
- Prior experience with computers or technology (we use Microsoft Office 365) is preferred
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Ability to self-manage: Most of our staff work remotely—you must be able to keep yourself on task without micromanagement
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks as they come in based on quick assessment while compartmentalizing in-office tasks and virtual ones
- A positive attitude, a sense of humor, and a thick skin—no one’s going to laugh at you, but you should be able to laugh at yourself
