Position Description: Staff Accountant – Accounts PayableEmployment Type\tFull-Time (Non-Exempt)Salary Range\t$55,000 – $65,000 annuallyLocation\tHybrid — Chicago office required Monday, Tuesday, and ThursdayReports To\tAccounting ManagerAbout the RoleWe are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our accounting team, with a primary focus on accounts payable operations, benefits payment processing, and corporate card program management. This role is critical to ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial transactions across the organization.Key ResponsibilitiesAccounts Payable Management: Process and pay all AP bills accurately and on time, ensuring proper coding, approval workflows, and vendor relationship managementBenefits Payment Processing: Manage and process all benefit-related payments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with plan terms and payment deadlinesCorporate Card Program Administration: Oversee the company's Ramp corporate card program including expense reconciliation, policy compliance, and reportingVendor Management: Handle new vendor setup and collection of W-9/tax documentation1099 Compliance: Responsible for 1099 preparation and vendor W-9 collection, including year-end 1099 filing supportAP Reporting: Maintain AP aging reports and proactively follow up on past-due itemsMaintain accurate and organized financial records related to AP, benefits, and corporate card transactionsReconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely mannerAssist with month-end close processes related to AP and corporate card activitySupport internal and external audits by providing documentation and reports as neededIdentify opportunities to improve AP and expense management processesQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred2+ years of experience in accounts payable or general accountingExperience with Sage Intacct preferredExperience with 1099 preparation and W-9 collection processesStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesProficiency in Microsoft Excel and general accounting softwareExcellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with vendors and internal teams $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 Annually
