Summary

A growing general contractor is seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee commercial, multifamily, and public works construction projects from mobilization through closeout. With a strong backlog of work and continued growth, this is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative team delivering projects throughout the Rochester market.

The ideal candidate has experience leading field operations on $20M–$50M commercial construction projects and is comfortable managing subcontractors, maintaining schedules, and delivering high-quality projects safely and on time.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead day-to-day field operations from mobilization through project completion
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, inspections, and site logistics
  • Develop and maintain 3-week look-ahead schedules and trade sequencing
  • Manage project schedules and maintain milestone completion
  • Ensure work is completed according to plans, specifications, and quality standards
  • Enforce OSHA and company safety policies across the jobsite
  • Conduct subcontractor meetings and coordinate daily field activities
  • Work closely with Project Managers to maintain budgets, schedules, and project goals
  • Review drawings, RFIs, submittals, and proactively resolve field issues
  • Maintain daily reports, field documentation, and project logs
  • Oversee punch list completion and project closeout activities

Requirements
  • 5+ years of Superintendent experience with a general contractor
  • Experience managing commercial, multifamily, or public works projects required
  • Experience on projects ranging from $20M–$50M preferred
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, and subcontractor coordination
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lead multiple trades while maintaining safety, quality, and production goals
